Academic Scholarships

An academic scholar at Wellington College International Pune is not only a diligent student but also a vibrant contributor to the intellectual fabric of our school. These scholars are expected to perform at an academic level that aligns with their exceptional abilities. Each year, a select number of academic scholarships are available, and the final awards depend on the quality of candidates throughout the rigorous Admissions process.

Sports Scholarships

Candidates should demonstrate potential or existing involvement in external sporting pathways, such as club, county/state, regional, or national representation. Our sports scholarships celebrate exceptional talent and promise in sports played at Wellington. Sports scholars should demonstrate an ability to pursue deliberate practice in order to develop their skills accordingly.

Arts Scholarships

Arts scholars (music, dance, drama, and art) demonstrate technical ability and contribute regularly to the academic and co-curricular life of the school. They demonstrate excellent collaborative skills along with disciplined working habits to continually develop their skills.

How to apply

Wellington Scholarships are highly competitive and subject to a rigorous application process. This will include a handwritten personal statement on one A4 page outlining why they believe they would make a good Wellington Scholar, grade transcripts, subject specific processes and panel interviews with the senior management team.

A preliminary review of the application will be conducted by the relevant department. The academic, sporting, and arts (music, dance, drama, and art) scholarship awards will be determined based on the strength of the applicant pool and available funding.

Selected candidates will be invited to an assessment day, audition or trial which will be held at the College (dates to be advised). Candidates receiving awards for music, dance, drama, sports or art are also required to meet Wellington's academic entry requirements. The selected candidates will be notified of their scholarship offer in writing. Academic, sporting, and arts (music, dance, drama, and art) scholarships will be reviewed annually.

Pupils who would like to apply for a scholarship should prepare and submit a personal statement to the Admissions Office at admissions.pune@wellingtoncollege.in.
