Wellington College has a strong tradition of Service and Leadership, embedded within the ethos and identity of the school, with all pupils expected to serve and lead others throughout their time on the campus. Reflecting these principles, WCI Pune embraces the same spirit, weaving community outreach programmes into the fabric of its campus life.
Leadership is a key aspect of everything that Wellingtonians do, whether it is on the sports field, academically, serving in the community, co-curricular activities or in the Arts. We, at WCI Pune, believe in nurturing compassionate, responsible young people who actively contribute to society and recognise their role in creating a more equitable world.
Through a range of service initiatives integrated into the CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) programme and the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (DoE), our students engage meaningfully with the local community while developing leadership, empathy, and global citizenship.
Community engagement at WCI Pune is embedded within our academic and co-curricular programmes, including CAS and the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (DoE). Through meaningful, student-led experiences, learners develop empathy, resilience, communication skills and a strong sense of social responsibility while engaging thoughtfully with the wider community.
Here is a list of community outreach activities performed by our pupils at the Pune campus:
- Weekly Teaching Programme for Underprivileged Children (DoE Service – Every Tuesday, 3:30–4:30 pm)
- Ice Bucket (Dunk the Master) Challenge Fundraiser for Orphanage Support
- Mufti Day – Raising Funds through Non-Uniform Celebration
- Expeditions – Learning Through Exploration (CAS & DoE Adventure Journey)
- CAS Projects – Creating Positive Impact Across the Community (Year 12 Projects)
At WCI Pune, community outreach is not a separate activity but a shared mindset. We are committed to fostering a culture where leadership is grounded in kindness, responsibility and purposeful action, empowering our students to make a lasting, positive impact on the world around them.
