What began as a small group of passionate parents coming together to support the newly launched Wellington College in India has today grown into something much larger. Our vision of being a bridge between the school and parent community is now becoming a reality.
From hosting Diwali lunches with games to helping children and parents decorate the campus for Christmas, these early initiatives laid the foundation for a vibrant and welcoming school spirit. As parents ourselves, we know just how important those first days at a new school are, for both children and their families, because we’ve been through them too.
For some, it means adjusting to a new city; for others, it means starting fresh in a new country. With families of different nationalities and cultures coming together, the need for a space that goes beyond the flags displayed, where everyone feels truly connected, becomes even more important.
Today, FoW has evolved into an active, dynamic group that hosts events designed to foster belonging and build meaningful connections. From celebrating International Women’s Day to running fundraising initiatives and organising parent-led workshops, our activities not only bring families together but also help new parents feel welcome, informed, and confident in navigating school life.
Looking ahead, we aim to align our work even more closely with the core values of WCI while creating an enthusiastic, united, and supportive community that benefits students, parents, and staff alike. With an incredibly talented and resourceful parent community,
FoW seeks to tap into these strengths to enrich every event and initiative. We believe parent engagement is vital to shaping a positive, inclusive environment for all. At its heart, FoW is about partnership. Together with WCI Pune, we continue to strengthen bonds, celebrate diversity, and ensure that every family feels at home from the very first day. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to welcome, connect, and support families, creating not just memorable events, but a lasting sense of belonging for every parent and child who joins our community.
