On Friday 24th January our Reception teacher, Ross Burrows, hosted an informative parent session on the Read Write Inc. programme, providing valuable insights into its implementation and benefits in the Early Years. He explained how this structured phonics programme supports pupils in building essential reading and writing skills through a systematic approach to sounds, blending, and segmenting.

Ross also highlighted the importance of sending home reading with pupils, emphasising how regular reading at home strengthens fluency, comprehension, and a love for books. Developing reading skills in the Early Years lays the foundation for lifelong learning, fostering confidence, curiosity, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
